(post incareration mentoring)

In partnership with, Virtous Women Life Academy, an innovative program at House of Empowerment, RESET-RISE-GLOW, provides a coordinated network of mentoring support to moms during the first year after being released form prison to their home communities.

Under this program, when mothers are released, they are linked to House of Empowerment who have local community navigators who provide social support. Navigators are trained in education, healthcare and social services, and have a passion to serve mom. They are also trained to understand the needs of traditionally marginalized groups.

Navigators are introduced to mothers prior to their release and work closely with them in their home communities. They communicate regularly via texts, phone calls and in-person meetings.

Upon release, the mother-baby pair is also provided with $300 in basic clothing, hygiene products and infant care supplies. The women also receive a laptop.

Our goal is to:

Equip women to have a successful transition back to their home communities. This sort of support is essential to reducing recidivism. A program that trains and mentors women to help their neighborhoods improve pregnancy and infant development outcomes through peer mentorship and policy advocacy

Our Core Values are:

  • God first

  • Love and respect ourselves

  • Respect everyone regardless of age, sexual orientation, race, or past experiences

  • Enhance healthy relationships

  • Inspire and encourage participants that only excellence is expected

  • To live through leadership and confidence

We are moms, and we believe that better moms make a better world.
